The new version of Xiaomi's Android TV is already here and it comes with the new Xiaomi Mi Box S, which will delight users of Netflix, YouTube, Play Music, Sky, Play Movies, HBO, Spotify, KODI, Amazon Prime Vídeo, and so on. This time we find a redesigned model of the previous Xiaomi Mi Box, with a body slightly less oval and more square than its predecessor, a thickness of only 1.6 centimeters and a weight of 145 grams, surpassing in lightness the 177 grams of the previous one.

Infinite entertainment

Thanks to Xiaomi Mi Box we have everything we need in one device, as it combines the best of a TV Box and an HDMI dongle. Imagine being able to enjoy all the content of your Android devices on the big screen; you will be able to play games that you download on Google Play, watch films that you share from your phone, computer or tablet, enjoy social networks, watch streaming videos, etc...

It is also possible to connect an external USB flash drive or hard drive to add content. Also, thanks to using Android TV, in this case with the Android Pie 9.0, we have superior functionalities and compatibility with thousands of applications, giving you access to premium video services and all kinds of content.

As for its technical features it has everything that the previous Mi Box had, such as the possibility of Mirroring thanks to the DLNA connection, as well as Google Cast and Miracast to send the screen of our smartphone or tablet to our TV through the Mi Box TV. And as a novelty, we found support to play 4K HDR at 60 frames per second through the HDMI 2.0a port, improving the reproduction in 4K, Bluetooth 4.2 (faster, safer and with low power IP) that allows us to connect wirelessly gaming devices, headsets, speakers and other devices with Bluetooth capability.

Finally, the new support for audio Dolby and DTS that offers a clearer three-dimensional surround sound. All this without forgetting that it also incorporates an improved version of PatchWall, a system based on artificial intelligence that learns from your viewing and playback habits, and therefore suggests content based on your tastes, taking into account the reviews and comments of the movies.

A smart and tailor-made remote controller

Xiaomi is willing to improve our experience in front of the television, and for that reason they have adapted its remote control to our needs thinking in our comfort. This is a key part of the My Box S, as its remote has two new buttons, one dedicated to Netflix, which opens the application directly, and another in which you can read Live, which we can configure ourselves to quickly access what we want.
In addition we have another button for the native Google Assistant, which will allow us to search for content by voice in a much simpler way through the remote control microphone, to request the reproduction of the contents that we want, look for photos, look at the climate, set an alarm, or even if we connect it to other smart devices of the house, to attenuate the lights in the living room, raise the volume or adjust the thermostat, thanks to its compatibility with Google Home devices.
